Captain Kellen Ankrum fish out of John’s Pass in the home port of Madeira Beach, Florida. He has logged his hours in the Tampa Bay area and surrounds starting at the ripe old age of 19, now 24, and received his six pack license in 2007. He is part of a two man crew, the other member being his father Captain B. K. Ankrum.
Flats/sight fishing is his specialty while driving Fish Dawgs Inc.’s 26 ft. Custom Gause boat. Red Fish, Snook, Trout, Tarpon, and Kingfish are among his favorite targeted species. Kellen fishes the majority of the time from John’s Pass to the Sunshine Skyway, Anna Maria area, and near shore along Long Boat Key north to Clearwater.

Kellen competes annually in local tournaments as well as The Fingers O’Bannon Invitational and the Cabbage Key Open each year. He recently guided Ms. Melissa Wilson to a first place finish in a Tampa/St. Petersburg Red Fish Tournament.

Kellen states that he enjoys taking families and children fishing as well as the seasoned angler. He fishes 1 to six angler aboard the Gause and provides the usual amenities, tackle, bait, and Florida fishing license for his guests.
